07. 02. BREAKFAST
a pretty amazing sandwich
So I need to broaden my horizons in respect to sandwiches. You know, get one from a really awesome New York sandwich place thing, punch Jessica Alba in the face just to get to a croque-monsieur, that sort of thing. But as it stands currently, Kim Young Mo bakery still makes the best damn sandwiches I have ever had. Unfortunately for the sake of diversity, my brother agrees, and this morning on a whim we decided to walk to the bakery just to get a sandwich for breakfast. It was raining, as the monsoon is here for real, but in retrospect it was probably worth it. I don’t even know what it is about their sandwiches, but this is one of my favorites — it could be the gouda, or the bountiful spread of mayo (at least I think it’s mayo, but it might not be, since it’s not sickening the way you’d expect mayo to be) or anything else, but I think a lot of it is the bread. This bread is fantastic. It does this thing where it’s crunchy and springy, it’s got texture, but it offers absolutely no resistance to your biting through it. There’s no tearing of the bread required, because it breaks so clean and even. Even after being told by the dentist not to use the left side of my mouth today, I had no problem enjoying this little marvel. No, I don’t work there, though I’m sure I would like to.
